On 31 July, the wheat production in Bulgaria amounted to 5.18 million tons, more than last year's level by 15.6%.

In 2016, the average yield was at the level of 47.9 kg/ha. On 31 July the stocks of wheat in Bulgaria has reached 526,694 thousand tons.

The average export price of Bulgarian wheat at the end of July was 153 euros per tonne. The main directions of the Bulgarian exports of steel in the Middle East and Greece. Also Bulgarian wheat were exported to Yemen, Somalia, Ethiopia and the Philippines.

Increased production led to lower wheat prices in the domestic market. Milling wheat is now quoted at a price of BGN 248 (124 euros) per tonne, in late July 2015, the price was 295 BGN.
