According to the Ministry of the environment, food and rural Affairs UK (DEFRA), the wheat stocks in the country as at the end of the 2015/16 increased by 34% compared with the previous season – to 2.7 million tons, which was the highest figure since 2007.

It should be noted that the growth of domestic wheat stocks in the UK was observed in spite of increased exports. The reasons for this trend was the increasing supply of grain and decrease of its consumption, reports "APK-inform".

However, some experts believe that this figure may be inflated, however, the final rating will be known in the updated report of the Ministry, which will be released in September 2016.
