The harvesting of sunflower in Argentina is gaining activity. Farmer in no hurry to sell their agricultural produce of the new harvest until the market attractive prices and high demand from recyclers.

As of February 15, the new season for processing received 0.92 million tons of sunflower seeds. On the same date in the previous period, this figure was 0.7 million tons of seeds.

With regard to the supply of processed products of the Argentine sunflower on the world market, their volume in a given period may exceed the period last year. So, if the January exports were slightly less than in the same month of 2016, by the end of February, according to experts, Argentina will be able to export about 60-80 thousand tons of sunflower oil and 70-90 thousand tons of sunflower meal. While most of the oil will be supplied to India and South Africa, and SME in the EU.
