In January, wheat exports from the UK fell to 91.1 million tonnes, which is the lowest value over the last eighteen months, from the data of the Association of grain producers in the UK (HGCA).

From July 2016. to January 2017. UK exported 1,161 million tons of wheat, which is 11% less than seven months last season. The main buyers this season came in traditional importing countries: Netherlands (280,4 thousand tons), Spain (175,2 thousand tons), Portugal (133,1 thousand tons), and Algeria (206,6 thousand tons), which typically buys wheat mainly from France, but this season was forced to seek other suppliers.

Wheat imports for the seven months of the current season dropped to 992,0 kt, 4% compared to the same period of the 2015/16 season. Wheat deliveries were mainly from Canada (208,6 thousand tons), Denmark (183,2 thousand tons), Germany (150,1 thousand tons) and USA (106.6 thousand tons). From Russia were delivered to 11.1 thousand tons.
