The Ministry of economy of the Russian Federation and Turkey will soon hold consultations on deliveries of Russian grain, said Deputy economic development Minister of Russia Alexei Gruzdev.

"From the point of view of the possibility of substitution (of Turkey as a market for grain – ed.) work is ongoing by the Ministry of agriculture. Question we do not consider it closed, because we have no notice of the Turkish authorities on exactly how these decisions will implementasourses"he said on the sidelines of the international Arctic forum.

In mid-March, Turkish authorities stopped issuing licenses for imports of wheat, corn, sunflower oil and meal from Russia. Russia's agriculture Ministry last week said that Ankara could lead to a complete cessation of imports of Russian wheat, maize, beans and rice in Turkey.

"We maintain contacts with the Ministry of economy of Turkey. We expect that soon will be consultations, which we will talk how we still continue interacting. We feel the loss of Russia as the main supplier of grain will cause a significant enough economic damage to Turkish exporters, who processed these products and then exports", — said Gruzdev.
