In season 2017/18 imports of wheat to India will remain high and will reach 3 million tons, which will become the second largest figure for the last 10 years.

Large shipments of grain to India will be observed, despite the growth of its gross yield in the country (up to 95-96 million tonnes), and due to the necessity of restocking of the product. So, according to preliminary data, as of the end of March, wheat stocks in the country will be reduced to 9.43 million tonnes, which is 44% below the same period a year earlier.

Recall that by the end of this season the import of wheat in India is projected at 5.5 million tons.
