Iran plans to increase exports of wheat to 3 million tonnes

As noted the Deputy Minister, in the current season, which began in late March, Iran can export about 3 million tons of wheat, including products of its processing in neighboring States, negotiations about it are already conducted.

To date, Iran has already contracted to export 250 thousand tons of wheat and wheat flour to Iraq, India and Oman. In addition, negotiations with Iraq concerning the supply in the country of 600 thousand tons of wheat.

"Given the high demand for wheat from neighboring countries, Iran has excellent opportunities for export business and there are no significant restrictions in this matter", — emphasized A. Ghanbari.

The wheat crop in Iran in the current season is expected to be about 13-14 million tons, of which 11 million tons will be purchased by the State trading Corporation (GTC) in government stocks there.
