Last season the country exported 447 thousand tons of sunflower oil. To increase the volume of export of Hungary was due to high harvest of sunflower in the 2016/17 season – 1874 thousand tons against 1586 thousand tons in the previous season.

The main importers of Hungarian sunflower oil during the period under review are traditionally the EU countries.

Exports of sunflower seeds during the period under review decreased by 37.5% to 172 thousand tons (275 thousand tons in September-March 2015/16 season). At the end of last season were shipped 382 thousand tons of seeds.
