According to the press service of the Ministry of agriculture of Iran, for four months of this year, the country exported 200 thousand tons of wheat flour. According to the Deputy Minister/Kh Khalil Akai, cereal production in the country has reached a new level, and to import it has no sense. This is the result - the efforts of local farmers and support from the government.

In addition to the export of flour, 13 Jun Iran has exported the first batch of wheat with a volume of 30 thousand tons from the port of Imam Khomeini. The Ministry said that the country is able to supply to foreign markets more than 2 million tons of wheat annually.

In fact, Iran is one of the largest importers of wheat. In 2015, the country imported 3.31 million tonnes of wheat worth nearly 886 million. If the words of the Deputy Minister regarding the export of their grain confirmed, then Iran can take its rightful place among the countries exporting agricultural products.
