The figure secured the North and Caspian basins.

Total catch of fish and other aquatic bioresources in the far East basin amounted to 2.65 million tonnes. A decrease of 5.1 thousand tonnes was due to the reduction of extraction (catch) of crab in the sea of Okhotsk, cod and saffron cod in the Bering sea. On the Pollock fishery catch is 1.5 million tonnes more than last year by almost 1.3% (+19,0 thousand tons).

In the Northern basin, the total catch was 480,3 thousand tons, 9.1 million tons higher than last year. The fishery cod catches reached 342,9 thousand tonnes (2016 332,8 thousand tons).

Baltic sea total catch amounted to 56,8 thousand tons. The fishery sprat obtained is 31.0 million tonnes (2016 – 28.5 thousand tons). Herring catch of the Baltic amounted to 16.7 thousand tons (2016 – 19.1 thousand tons). Reason for the decline in catch is the deployment of the fleet in fisheries sprat.

In the Azov-black sea basin the total catch of fish and other aquatic biological resources amounted to 61,1 million tons (2016 74.2 thousand tons). The decline in catch is due to a decrease in the production of sprat and other objects of the fishery. In the pool increased the catch of anchovy to 27.6 thousand tons (2016 – 25.1 thousand tons).

In the Caspian basin total catch increased to 42.2 thousand tons (2016 – 42,1 thsd tonnes).

Increased development of quotas of catch of fish in foreign zones. According to 18 October production totaled 372,5 thousand tonnes (2016 317,6 thousand tons). The increase is mainly due to catches in the area of Angola and Morocco.
