According to experts, the import of rapeseed by countries in the EU will total 3.46 million tons. The average five-year figure stands at 3.5 million tons, while imports last year amounted to 4.7 million tons.

The reason for the reduction of import specialists call high rapeseed crop in the EU to 22.3 million tons. The harvest last season totaled 20 million tons.

The main suppliers of rape seeds on the internal market of the EU countries can be France and Britain, which crop this year amounted to 5.4 million tons and 2.09 million tons of oil respectively. Increased production of rapeseed in Poland and Romania to 2.7 million tonnes, 1.94 million tonnes, which can also affect the reduction of imports.
