It is noted that the decrease in shipments was observed not only in the direction of the key importer India up to 100 (134) thousand tonnes owing to increase in import duties on vegetable oil, but also African countries that have reduced imports of the product to 235 (314) thousand tons. The EU-28 also reduced the volume of purchases to 155 (162) thousand tons. Amid a seasonal decline in imports, a slight increase in procurement were noted by some Asian countries, particularly the Philippines, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam.

Experts also noted that in November, palm oil production in Malaysia increased by 23% to 1.9 million tons compared to 1.57 million tons in November 2016.

Total stocks of crude and refined palm oil in the country by the end of the reporting month increased to 2.56 million tonnes, 54% above last year's level and is the highest indicator since December 2015.
