For the three months 2017/18 season of the Russian exporters supplied to foreign markets around 1.3 million tons of corn and 28.5% less than was exported in the same period last marketing year (1.8 million tonnes in September-November 2016/17 MG).

The drop in exports of corn due to reduced harvest and Nezavisimaia in cleaning in Russia before the arrival of winter, according to analysts at UkrAgroConsult.

The main importer of Russian maize in the first quarter of the season was Turkey, which accounted for 38% of all exported in this period (about 500 tons). The rate of supply of corn from Russia to Turkey more than two and a half times higher than last year.

Note also that the last time Turkey has occupied a leading position among importers of Russian corn in the 2014/15 season, when Russia put on the market more than 1.4 million tons.
