The Ministry of food, Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Finance decided to abandon the increase in duty at the moment. According to experts, the government thereby recognizes the right of informal forecasts the wheat harvest at the level of 91-92 million tons against the government figures of 97 million tons. Previously, the state even gave a forecast of 100 million tons.

Annual wheat consumption in India now stands at about 100 million tons, while consumption is growing by 1-1,5% per year.

Traders not yet venture to make detailed forecasts of wheat imports by India in the new season, but the General view od will be in the range of 2 to 4 million tons.
