Russia's agriculture Ministry has adjusted the forecast of grain exports from Russia in the current agricultural year (June 2016 - July 2018), the Agency "Interfax"

"We expect that grain exports in the current season will reach 52-53 million tons", - told reporters the head of the Ministry Alexander Tkachev on the sidelines of the exhibition Metro Expo.

Previous forecast of the Ministry was 45-47 million tons. But in early March, Alexander Tkachyov did not rule out the supply of 50 million tons.

Last week, the Director of the Department of economy, investments and regulation of agricultural markets Ministry of agriculture Anatoly Kutsenko said that the exports could reach 50-52 million tonnes.

According to the Ministry of agriculture, from July 1, 2017 to March 14, 2018 the export of grain amounted to more than 36 million tons, 39% more than a year ago. Of this amount, 28.4 million tons was wheat, which is by 40.5% more than a year ago. The export of barley increased by 1.9 times, up to 4,158 million tons, the supply of corn fell by 1.1%, to 3,561 million tons.

In the past agricultural year, Russia exported 35.5 million tons of grain.
