According to operational data of the agricultural administrative bodies of constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as of may 10, 2018 in the whole country fueled 12.8 million hectares or 75% of the sowing areas (in 2017 13.1 million hectares) of winter crops. Including in the southern Federal district 5.4 million ha or 86.8% of the sowing areas (in 2017 5.1 million ha), North Caucasian Federal district is about 1.7 million hectares or 72.5% of the sowing areas (in 2017 and 1.7 million hectares) in the Central Federal district – 3.5 million ha or 91.2 per cent of the sowing area (in 2017 and 3.6 million hectares) in the North-West Federal district was 35.5 thousand hectares or 67.7% of of the sowing area (in 2017 to 83.6 thousand hectares), in the Volga Federal district, 2.2 million ha or 50.4 per cent of the sowing area (in 2017 and 2.5 million hectares), in the Urals Federal district – 16,4 thousand hectares or 21.7% of the sowing areas (in 2017 – 22.3 thousand ha), in the Siberian Federal district – 33.8 thousand hectares, or 11.1% of the sowing areas (in 2017 – 44,5 thousand ha).

Spring sowing in the whole country conducted in an area of 14.8 million ha or 27.8 percent of the forecast (2017 – 16.5 million ha). Including in the southern Federal district spring sowing carried out on an area of 4.3 million hectares or 69.6% of the forecast (2017 3.9 million hectares). In the North Caucasian Federal district – 1.5 million ha or 78.3% of the forecast (2017 – 1.4 million ha). In the Central Federal district of 5.6 million hectares or 58.5% of the forecast (2017 – 5.9 million ha). In the far Eastern Federal district – 382,1 thousand ha or 19,9% of the forecast (2017 – 284,9 thousand hectares). In the North-Western Federal district – 110,6 thousand hectares, or 20.8% of the forecast (2017 32.8 thousand hectares). In the Volga Federal district is 2.6 million hectares, or 16.6% of the forecast (2017 4.1 million hectares). In the Siberian Federal district – 228,3 thousand ha or 1.8% of the forecast (2017 353,6 thousand hectares). In the Urals Federal district – 55 thousand hectares or 1.3% of the forecast (2017 – 481,7 thousand hectares).

Spring grain and leguminous crops in the whole country planted on an area of 8.4 million hectares or 27% of the forecast (2017 – 9.7 million ha). Of them, spring wheat was sown on an area of 1.3 million hectares or 10.3% of the forecast (2017, 1.9 million hectares). Spring barley was sown on the area of 3.4 million ha, or 44.7% of the forecast (2017 – 3.8 million ha). Corn for grain was sown 1.7 million hectares, or 57.6 per cent of the forecast (2017, 1.9 million hectares). Rice is planted on an area of 121,8 thousand hectares or 66,1% of the forecast (2017 – 61.5 thousand hectares).

Sugar beet (factory) were sown 913,5 hectares, or 83.4% of the forecast (2017 – 1046,6 thousand hectares).

Flax was sown on the area of 3,5 thousand hectares, or 7.5% of the forecast (2017 – 0,6 thousand hectares).

Sunflower planted on an area of 2.6 million hectares or 35% of the forecast (2017 to 2.8 million hectares).

Soybeans planted on an area of a 765, 3 thousand ha or 28.2% of the forecast (2017 – of 622.9 thousand hectare).

Canola spring wheat planted on an area of 246,4 thousand ha or 23.4% of the forecast (2017 – 236,2 thousand hectares).

In the agricultural enterprises and peasant (farm) potatoes planted on the area of 76,9 thousand ha or 25.1% of the forecast (2017 – 79,8 thousand hectares). Vegetables planted on an area of 67,1 thousand ha or 38.2% of the forecast (2017 – 65.9 thousand ha).
