In the Novosibirsk region approximately 38 thousand hectares (about 2.5%) of the acreage in the Novosibirsk region remain under the snow that fell this year earlier than the norm, part of the crop may be destroyed. Management hope forecasters predicted warming, told reporters on Wednesday the Governor of the Novosibirsk region Vladimir Gorodetsky.

"We assess the situation as very complex and even unpredictable. Stayed clean for about 38 thousand hectares of 1576 thousand ha. Hope that the warming in the next 2-3 days will give this opportunity," he said.

According to Gorodetsky, to date, the region produced over 2 million tons of grains with the average yield of 13.7 tons per hectare. The Governor noted that this amount is enough to provide a field of grain, and the preparation of the seed Fund.

Support measures

In the spring of the regional authorities had planned to gather in 2014 record harvest of about 5 million tons of grain yield not less than 20 kilograms per hectare.

Prerequisites get bigger harvests were organized was sown. However, due to weather conditions it was not enough. The task now is to find the further steps, how to protect from this instability all grain farming", - said the Governor.

As one of the measures of support Gorodetsky offers to encourage the development of drying equipment. If it is possible to carry out drying of the grain harvesting campaign can be started earlier without risking to leave the area sown under the snow.

The weather is not the first year prevents Novosibirsk farmers. In 2012, due to severe drought was able to collect only 1.5 million tons of grain.

Harvest 2013 has suffered due to record humidity, however, managed to collect about 2.7 million tons of grain.

Previously the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation statedthat the weather in Siberia and the Urals will have no impact on yield.
