Part of the grain harvest in the southern Urals in the case of heavy snowfall in the coming days may remain on the margins, TASS was told at the Ministry of agriculture of the Chelyabinsk region.

According to the Agency, threshing was completed by 86% of the acreage, collected 1 million 80 thousand tons of grain. Last year at this time, the cleaning was completed by 97% of the land, but in absolute figures were collected 1 million 24 thousand tons of grain, that is 56 thousand tons less than it is now. This is due to the increase in acreage this season and the increase in the average yield.

The pace of the harvest fell due to severe weather conditions in October, when over the Northern part of the region was a powerful cyclone brought heavy snow and ice storms. So, in Chebarkul district, where one of the highest yields of grain harvested only 68% of the acreage in the Uvelsky district - 66%, in October - 62. In Argayashsky and kunashakskom areas respectively 73 and 74%.

According to the head of the Department of crop production of the regional Ministry of agriculture Yuri Zasypkina, farmers still need at least 15-20 days of good weather for the successful completion of cleaning. However, the forecast for the next few days he called "heavy". Weather forecasters promise a negative temperature and moderate snow in the next week. Big snowfalls are expected in the last days of November, but if they come earlier part of the harvest will remain in the fields, believes Zasypkin.
