The issue of export duty on fertilizers closed: manufacturers agreed on prices
Fertilizer prices for 49 regions having problems with the sowing campaign will be recorded at the level of January 2015.

The question of the introduction of export duties on fertilizers closed, and their producers and farmers confirmed the previously reached agreements on discounts during the meeting, which was held yesterday by Vice-Premier of the government of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich.

The press service of the Ministry of agriculture stated that Russian fertilizer producers agreed to fix prices for domestic farmers on the level of the beginning of 2015.

At the meeting it was agreed that the price of fertilizer to 49 regions having problems with the sowing campaign will be recorded at the level of January 2015. For the other entities rates will be frozen at the level of February 2015, when fertilizer prices rose by 10% relative to January. From this level, farmers will receive a discount on fertilizer, its maximum size will be about 30% without taking into account logistics and VAT, said the Ministry.

However, the representative of the FAS was not so optimistic, and told TASS that "nothing concrete market participants is not reached".

Previously Dvorkovich said that the government has no plans to impose export duties on metals and mineral fertilizers. The same position was outlined by the head of Minpromtorg Denis Manturov, attesting to the absence of necessary and appropriate in the introduction of export duties for Russian producers of mineral fertilizers.

According to the agriculture Ministry, as of February 16, 2015 average prices of the most popular forms of mineral fertilizers in Russia grew by 30-40% compared with the same date in 2014.
