The Ministry explains the increase in sugar prices by reducing harvest beets. In January of this year was made up 44.5 thousand tons of beet sugar, which is 73,9% less than in the same month last year. Also prices rose amid falling ruble. "The current level of sugar prices reflects increased due to the devaluation of the ruble cost of acquisition of imported inputs for production activities", - is spoken in the office, noting that in 2014 the import of raw sugar increased by a quarter, and white sugar - almost 4 times.

In addition to sugar, from January 2014 45% rose cereals, 19% free - range eggs, 14.6% - pasta, 13.8% sunflower oil, 11% - bread, 22% fruits and vegetables.

According to "VTB Capital", in 2015, one Russian will spend 50-55 percent of their budget to buy food. In late February, Rosstat reportedthat annual inflation in Russia exceeded 16%, and in January, prices rose by 3.9%. Faster inflation were dispersed only in February 1999 (4,1%).
