Fish products grew by 3% in March 2015 compared to January, the report of Rosstat.

This increase was the largest monthly record among all groups of food products, which is tracked by the Agency.

The annual increase in fish prices (March 2015 by March 2014) amounted to 33%, according to the materials of the service.

The cut frozen fish (besides salmon species) intact and in the past month rose by 4.2% and 4.1%, respectively, fish fillet, 3.7% , canned fish natural and with oil - 3.6% , salted herring - 3.4%.

Earlier the head of Federal Agency for fishery Ilya Shestakov allowed the introduction of export duties on fish growth on her domestic prices. The volume of export of fish, fish products and seafood from Russia in 2014 decreased by 9% to 1.7 million tons. The volume of imports of fish products to Russia during the same period decreased by 13% (129,5 thousand tons) compared to 2013 and amounted to 885 thousand tons.

Garlic and bananas are the leader in price growth

According to Rosstat, garlic and bananas in March 2015 became leaders of growth of prices for fruit and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables in the last month rose by 1.2% compared with the previous month, the growth for the year was 38%.

Significantly for the month increased the prices of garlic - 21.5%; banana - 6,6%; dried fruits, frozen vegetables, and nuts - by 5.2-5.7 per cent, said the service. The prices of oranges in March 2015 increased by 3.7%, fresh cabbage, beets, carrots, and grapes - by 1.8% to 2.8%.

However, the tomatoes and cucumbers fell by 7,2% and 2.3%, onion - by 0.5%, pears and apples - by 0.4%.

The head of FAS Igor Artemyev in March 2015 does not exclude the reduction in import duties on vegetables in connection with the "horrendous" rise of the price of them. The Federal Antimonopoly service of the Russian Federation previously explained price fluctuations in the fruit and vegetable market in Russia seasonal change and the dependence on imports, which is manifested acutely amid Russia imposed an embargo on imports of food products in response to the decisions of the countries sanctioners, including the EU, USA.
