Serbia hopes for a speedy signing of the agreement on the mode of the simplified customs control for major and regular suppliers of agricultural products to Russia, told RIA Novosti adviser of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia to the Russian Federation for economic Affairs Marjan Bozovic on Friday in Belgrade.

"Green customs corridor for major suppliers of Serbian agricultural products to bring the formalities to a minimum and facilitate and accelerate getting products to the Russian market. Such an agreement Russia has with several States and until recently was with Turkey, and now we're next. Soon there will be a meeting at the Ministerial level, and hopefully, the agreement will be signed and implemented", — said Bozovic.

According to him, although still have to discussion and negotiations, the signing of the agreement the Russian and Serbian parties "can be expected in the next two months". Separately, the adviser of Embassy of Serbia for economic Affairs pointed out the possibility of introducing electronic data processing to speed up customs control of the supply of agricultural products in the Russian Federation, the decision on which will require "more time".

According to the chamber of Commerce (CCI) of Serbia, the Serbian cost of imported agricultural and food products to the Russian Federation amounted in 2015 to almost $ 280 million. We are talking, primarily, about fresh and processed vegetables and fruits, meat and meat products, cheeses and dairy products.
