Vladimir farmers use only 59.8% of the total arable land of the region. About this TASS said the Deputy Governor of the region Elena Mazanko.

"Currently under cultivation is only used 336,5 thousand hectares, that is 59.8% of the total arable land. The rest 226,4 thousand hectares of arable land are not used or used not to destination", - said the Deputy Governor.

As said the interlocutor of the Agency, for the period 2013-2015 on public land supervision in the regional Department of property and land relations received the materials on the non-use to destination 35 agricultural land. For 26 of the areas served statements of claim with the requirement about their withdrawal, and 18 claims are satisfied.

"Land plots which are not used by the owners of more than five to ten years will lose fertility, become overgrown. Putting in a condition suitable for subsequent use for agricultural production requires significant financial investments. In connection with the sale of seized land plots due to the lack of buyers the auction is recognized as invalid", - said Masenko.

As explained TASS Director of the regional Department of agriculture and fertility Konstantin Demidov, unused agricultural land is really hard to find new owners.

"Now some companies a great need for additional land. But you have to understand that most of the land is not used in depressed areas, where poorly developed agriculture. There is land scattered, unused for a long time, require large expenditures in their introduction into circulation", - he said.

According to the press-service of administration of Vladimir region, in 2015, the crop production grew by 6.6%. In farms of all categories produced 217,9 thousand tons of grain (an increase of 15.6% compared to 2014). Contains more than 360 thousand tons of potatoes and 173,5 thousand tons of vegetables.
