This was stated by the Director of the National Agency for food safety (ANSA) of the Republic of Vsevolod Stamati.

"The world organisation for animal health identified a gene of the virus of avian influenza in Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro and Bulgaria. We are at risk and therefore decided to ban the import of poultry meat from some of these States", — said Stamati.

He said that at the moment in the countries from which Moldova imported meat and eggs, fixed 21 focus of bird flu, noting that the timing of the ban will be in effect until the threat to pass.
