Since the emergence of the first case of ASF (February 2014) among boars, the disease was detected already 219 times. During the first two months of 2017 Chief veterinary Inspectorate of Poland has confirmed more than 50 cases, while for 2016 identified slightly more than 100 cases of the disease.

Recent cases concern mainly the dead boar was found within 16 km from the border with Belarus, said in an ecological public organization "Green front". In one case the boar was shot on the territory of the village at a distance of 3 km from the border.
