The study was presented in the office of the Italian agricultural Association Coldiretti. In accordance with its results, the share of mafia in the field of Italian agriculture in 2016 has grown by 30% in comparison with indicators of 2015.

The report's authors believe that trafficking criminal groups in this area in Italy amounts to 21.8 billion euros. The experts do not exclude that in fact this figure is even higher.

"The most powerful criminal groups have divided among themselves the field of food production, reached and well-known brands that are symbols of made in Italy products", – quotes the AP extracts from the report prepared by the organisations Eurispes and the Observatory Foundation.
