Sanctions imposed by the EU against Russia, and the subsequent response caused damage to agriculture of France. It is acknowledged by the head of the French economic Minister Michel Sapin at the end of the plenary session of the XXII session of the Russian-French Council for economic, financial, industrial and trade issues (CEFIC).

"In the last few years, the political difficulties in the relations between our countries caused damage to the agricultural sector of France. Our farmers suffered a lot and suffer from the Russian embargo", said Sapin after negotiations with the Minister of economic development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin in Paris.

"We would like to overcome these difficulties. We must recognize that when there are problems, do not need to close his eyes, to prepare for a return to normal relations. We hope that will be done by political steps in this direction," — said Sapna.
