The last two cases were registered on 5 April. Two patients had contact with live poultry. One of them died of infection 8 April, after unsuccessful treatment. One continues to be treated in a hospital and is in stable condition.

Beijing began environmental monitoring in six districts, where were foci of the disease.

H7N9 is a strain of bird flu that infected humans for the first time in China in March 2013. Infections most often occur in winter and spring. Experts on control and prevention of diseases, said the H7N9 virus is not passed from person to person.

Experts recommend that people avoid contact with dead and live poultry and fly the bird only with quarantine certificates.
