The test facility can simulate a wide range of weather conditions, which in different countries of the world faced by farmers at harvest. Simulation of such conditions helps engineers to assess the capacity and reliability of the equipment at the earliest stages of its development.

"We will combine our existing factory in Harsewinkel in a single laboratory testing facility. This will allow us to increase our capacity and reduce the attachment of test cycles to timing of the harvest", — says the head of testing CLAAS Oliver Westphal.

The new center will be equipped with equipment for testing aggregates for grain and forage harvesters and tractors.

"We individually test the functionality and reliability of all components of our machines, which are every year becoming more complex, and at the same time, they still have to meet ever-growing list of regulatory requirements", explains Oliver Westphal.

In addition, the technical equipment of the new center comes on a completely different level. "For testing elements of transmission will be used with Electromechanical equipment (300 kW) instead of diesel drive engines", adds the responsible for the construction project Manager Ulrich Alpers.

Built the test center will also meet all modern standards of energy efficiency. For example, in testing facilities integrated heat recovery systems, therefore in the winter period staff Parking will be required. Conversely, the supply system, passing through the heat exchange device connected to the built-in underground space the radiators and will provide coolness in the summer.

The total building area will be about 8000 m2 of which half will be used for Assembly shops, laboratories and test yourself installation. The project envisages the creation of over 200 jobs for engineers and researchers. Also the work of the centre will provide a number of additional objects technical support.
