Iran is negotiating with major Russian retail chains on the supply of agricultural products, said the Minister of industry, mines and trade of Iran Mohammad Reza Nematzade on the sidelines of the "Expo-2017" in Astana.
"Our country is rich in agricultural products, especially fruits and vegetables. They have come to your country, but in small quantities. We are now discussing with some major stores and chain stores in your country and hope to conclude long-term agreements with them so we could put as much product as they need," — said Nematzade.
According to him, Iran grows year-round including oranges, apples, apricots.
Moreover, Tehran is counting on the growth of trade with the conclusion of the free trade agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Union.
"We now finalize the agreement with the Eurasian Union... the agreement, we will have the preferential trade regime that will help promote our products", — reminded Nematzade, noting that the next round of negotiations will be held in the coming days.
