Group of companies Cognitive Technologies (a Russian developer of systems of artificial intelligence for unmanned vehicles) and the Ural Federal University (Urfu) launching an international programme robotization of agriculture "Ural Kognitiv agro". The corresponding agreement the parties will sign on Monday in the framework of the forum "Innoprom-2017", the company said.

The program is designed up to 2022, it is expected that it will start in the coming months in Russia, Brazil and Argentina. It is assumed that investment in "Ural Kognitiv agro" in the next three years will amount to 3 billion rubles. It will as own funds (800 million) and attracted investors.
The essence of the program

"The goal of the program is to sustainably increase the efficiency of the key indicators of domestic agricultural enterprises through the use of robotic systems and artificial intelligence (AI)", – said in the company.

The program involves the development of AI technologies, hardware solutions into applications of robotic agriculture (sensors, computers), creation of ground and aerial robotic systems.

It is also planned to conduct educational activities in the field of computer vision, neural networks in application to agricultural topics, which along with the specialists of companies-developers will be involved trainees Urfu.

During the work of the program is planned to prepare more than 200 qualified professionals in the key areas of AI and robotics in applications, smart agriculture (smart agriculture).

The parties expect that the economic effect from implementation of the program will be at least 20-30 billion rubles due to the introduction of robotic production systems.

According to international analysts, which resulted in the company, the use of robotic systems in agriculture allows to increase the average by 50-70% efficiency business processes by reducing oil and fuel consumption, reduction of water loss, electricity increase the quality of the harvest by reducing losses of agricultural products (60-80%) and optimization of key workflows, increase productivity in 1,5-2 times, up to 80% to reduce the cost of planting crops.

According to J'son & Partners Consulting, labor productivity in the Russian agricultural sector currently lags behind Germany three times. The actual yield of Russia is also inferior to Germany and USA in 2,5-3 times. According to analysts, the use of smart agriculture will be able to reduce this gap.

The experts of the program "Ural Kognitiv agro" believes that for the period of the program lagging behind the leading countries on key indicators of productivity and yield can be virtually eliminated. In addition, Russia can leave on the fourth place in terms of grain production (now in sixth place after the USA, China, EU, Brazil and India).
