The government of the Rostov region held a meeting with representatives of the don government and the regional Ministry of agriculture and food with a foreign business delegation from South Korea.

Opening the event, first Deputy Governor Viktor Goncharov said that, don region is to remain one of the most attractive subjects for business:

- Don region today is one of the leading regional economies of Russia and is one of the most investment attractive territories, in particular for the development of agro-enterprises. So, last year the volume of investments in main capital of enterprises and organizations of AIC for the full range of 28.3 billion rubles. Currently, the support of the Ministry of agriculture of the region is 26 investment projects with a total investment of approximately 148,4 billion rubles, - said Viktor Goncharov.

During the bilateral meeting the sides discussed the issue of revitalizing foreign trade relations of the Rostov region with the Republic of Korea. It was noted that by the end of 2016, the foreign trade turnover amounted to 25.8 million US dollars (export – 13.8 million, import – 12 million).

In particular, the meeting addressed the issue of the construction of the milling plant processing capacity of 100 thousand tons, a total investment 45 million US dollars.

- We consider possibility of creation on the South of Russia, such production processing of wheat into flour and making noodles, - said the Advisor to the Korean of the analytical center "the Institute for the future consent" KIM young-Tak. – We know that the Rostov region is one of the most promising regions. Here, the high level of agricultural production, actively growing exports of grain, particularly wheat, and increases productivity. Such cooperation is promising for the Korean business.

Representatives of the don government and Korean businesses explored opportunities to support state and regional support for the implementation of investment projects existing in the region investment incentives. In addition, Korean businessmen interested in the production of wheat and corn, as well as a rough plan for ensuring potential production of these crops.

During the negotiations it was proposed to consider several investment sites for project implementation. The decision of the Korean investors will be after a comprehensive study involving monitoring of the prices of raw materials, the supply channels of grain, cost of transportation, export routes, and more.
