Director of international cooperation Department Olga garshyna has held a meeting with the Director General of the Japanese "Hokkaido Corporation" Yukio Tammai. The meeting discussed the project of construction of year-round greenhouse complex on the territory of Yakutia, implemented with the participation of the company "Hokkaido Corporation".

The Japanese side has shared their plans for implementation of the project. Until the end of 2017 it is planned to create engineering infrastructure and build a greenhouse. Currently has built and operates an experimental greenhouse with an area of 1000 square meters, in which are grown tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce. For Yakutia is a unique project. The climate of the region allow for year-round produce of vegetables, and the implementation of such projects makes it possible to provide citizens with high quality vegetable production regardless of climatic conditions.

The project, implemented jointly with the "Hokkaido Corporation", export-oriented. According to the Japanese side, its further development has good prospects, particularly targeting markets in the Asia-Pacific region. The company also is working to study the possibility of implementation of similar projects in the Central regions of Russia.

Olga Garshina said that such initiatives not only contribute to the development of the domestic fruit and vegetable production in the country, but also strengthen the position of Russia as the country-exporter.

"In Russia all conditions are created for foreign companies. Projects that correspond to priority directions of the state Program in the field of agriculture, can count on support from the state", – said Olga Garshina.
