Iran supplied to the Russian Federation of 25 tons of cream cheese on 100 thousand dollars, writes the news Agency IRNA, citing the Chairman of the veterinary service of the Iranian city of Astara Bahram PUR-Zarb (Bahram Pour-Zarb). According to him, the consignment has been tested in the Department of veterinary medicine and have been exported under the supervision of the veterinary service.

Astara city with a population of 91 thousand people located in the Western part of Gilan province on the border with Azerbaijan.

Russia and Iran for several years been negotiating the supply of dairy products to Russia. At the beginning of this year, the relevant agreements were reached and Iran starts first delivery.

According to the Federal customs service (FCS), the trade turnover between Russia and Iran in January-may 2017 fell 29.5% in annual terms and amounted to 603,3 million dollars. The Russian export to Iran amounted to 404 million dollars (a decline of 42%), imports to Russia from the Iran – 199,3 million dollars (growth of 25.2%). Iran's share in the total foreign trade turnover of Russia has decreased to 0.3% from 0.5% a year earlier.
