The total demand for rough and succulent feed for the winter 2017-2018 is 30.8 million tons of fodder units or 17.5 quintals of feed units per conventional head. In the whole country for one conventional head harvested 13.2 centners of fodder units or 75.4% of the demand.

Forage harvested 20.9 million tonnes of fodder units (in 2016 19.5 million tons), including 11.3 million tons of hay, 8.6 million tons of haylage, 987,8 thousand tons of straw. Laid 2.4 million tons of green mass for silage.

Mass fodder comes in all Federal districts of the country.
