Branch Agency "Sovekon" has improved the forecast of grain harvest in Russia this year to 133 million tonnes, 5.4 million tonnes more than the previous expectations. On Friday, September 8, according to the website "Sovekon".

According to the forecast "SovEcon", the harvest of wheat in 2017 is expected at the level of 81.1 million tonnes, instead of the previously expected of 78.9 million tonnes, barley — will be 20 million tons (plus 0.6 million tonnes to the previous forecast).

Further noticeable improvement in forecasts of wheat are expected, experts say.

The estimate of the corn crop is reduced by 1.2 million tons to 15.2 million tons due to unfavorable conditions in the South of Russia.

On 21 August the head of the Ministry Alexander Tkachev said that grain exports from Russia in 2017-2018 crop year may reach a record 40 million tons.
