During the last meeting of the Seimas Committee on agriculture, the politician explained why the government adopted amendments to the law on the protection of animal health and combating infectious animal diseases. The document must first ensure the financing of the program of voluntary renunciation of pig production in farms that are not able to fulfill the stricter conditions of Biosafety in connection with the African plague of pigs.

In response to the deputies ' questions, the Deputy Minister explained that the compensation will be for this and 2018. In accordance with the calculations, it will be about 18 Euro for one production cycle (six months), it is about 35 euros per year. The number of animals which will be paid compensation, will be counted including on the basis of population in 2016. We are talking about reimbursements for the cost of slaughter, and the farmer will be able to get a refund and use the meat for their own needs.

At the meeting representatives of farmers have criticized the agricultural Ministry. In particular, they were concerned with questions as to why "the government believes that the problem concerns only small and medium farms", and whether the policy of the authorities aimed at "strangling small businesses". Pig farmers also indicated that, in their opinion, the lack of strategy in the policy of the Polish government, as its current plans only cover the next two years, during which it is proposed to compensate for the rejection of pig production. What will happen to the farmers on, nobody knows.

In response ewa Lech said that "it's OK if the farmer, which has a small population and few resources, may not fulfill all Biosafety requirements".

- If we do not act thus, then no pig we won't have, so no we did not buy. No meat will leave the Polish borders, due to the fact that ASF is continuing to spread. If a farm is unable to fulfill the regulations for the prevention of the disease, it after a while should be closed - not concealed the Deputy Minister.

Meanwhile, in some regions, breeders are not just criticize the government, but move to active opposition to the implementation of hard script of agrarian policy. So a week ago in Podlasie, a group of farmers were waiting for the arrival of the recycling brigade, which in full uniform came to the farm to destroy about 70 of healthy pigs.
