The Japanese want to build on the Kuril Islands greenhouses and grow strawberries
The government of Japan is developing a plan for the construction of greenhouses on the territory of the Kuril Islands and the cultivation in them of strawberries in the framework of joint economic activity. On this day, November 19, says Japanese newspaper "Yomiuri".

It is reported that the Japanese side is ready to provide appropriate technologies for the construction of greenhouses and growing strawberries in them. Moreover, Tokyo is counting on the help of local authorities and residents in the organization of these greenhouses.

The publication notes that on the Northern Japanese island of Hokkaido has a similar greenhouses where strawberries are grown. The climate on Hokkaido closest to the Kuril Islands. Japanese economists calculated that even taking into account the cost of transportation of fruit from the Islands for sale to the farming may be profitable.

As previously reported IA REGNUM, in the beginning of November 2017 Southern Kuril Islands was again visited by a delegation of Japanese businessmen. They examined 57 possible sites for joint business with Russian businessmen.
