In June 2017, the crops suffered from heat waves and hail. In September, was introduced a state of emergency of regional scale, of the crops died due to the early formation of snow cover. According to the regional Ministry of agriculture, particularly affected the harvest of grain and leguminous crops in the southern and Western parts of the region. In Krasnoturansky area, the crops died on the area of 14 thousand hectares, in the district of Novosyolovo on the area of 13 thousand hectares.

"From the Reserve Fund of the government of Russia 125 the farms of the 14 districts of the region received a grant in the amount of 307 million rubles in damages from emergency situations of natural character in 2017. The received means will direct farmers to buy seeds, fertilizers and other agricultural purposes", — is spoken in the message.

Crop of 2017 in the region amounted to more than 2.2 million tons, a record among the Siberian regions.
