Vologda oblast with the support of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation in the framework of the strategic program of development of flax, which is planned to create in Russia ready to increase the area under crops of flax doubled to 10 thousand hectares and to increase the amount of flax fiber production to 5 thousand tons. This was announced Thursday in a press-service of the Governor following the meeting, which was held in Vologda the first Deputy Minister of agriculture of Russia Dzhambulat Hatuov.

According to hatuova, the Ministry is studying the successful experience of the Vologda region for the production and processing of flax, to create the strategic program of development of the industry of flax. "We hope that the further development of the flax industry through a regional program that is synchronized with Federal support, will give the fold increase in production of flax," said the house, which quoted the press service.

Governor of the Vologda region Oleg Kuvshinnikov expressed his willingness to revive the cultivation of flax in the region and instructed the regional Department of agriculture at the expense of the regional budget with the support of the Ministry of agriculture to develop a program of modernization of the linen industry, to provide reimbursement for the purchase of machinery, equipment, construction, reconstruction of production facilities of not less than 80%.

"We will be able to increase the acreage of flax to 10 thousand hectares, the production of flax fiber - to the level of not less than 5 thousand tons," said Kuvshinnikov.

The region takes today the second place in Russia in crops of flax, they amount to 5.3 thousand hectares or 12% of the total area in the country.
