The Agency estimates the catch of aquatic bioresources in Russia by the end of 2017 at the level of 4.9 million tons, which is 1.6% higher than in 2016. This was announced by the head of the Agency Ilya Shestakov, at a meeting with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

"In General, the dynamics for the catch we have is quite positive. Last year Russian fishermen produced 4.9 million tons. This is a record for the last 20 years. Dynamics of growth of 1.6% to a record in 2016. This year we expect to reach the target of 5 million tonnes of catch," said he.

Aquaculture production, according to Shestakov has been very active in the North-Western Federal district, in Karelia, in the South of Russia - in Krasnodar territory and the Crimea. "Actively involved in Western Siberia, and of course the far East, Primorye," - said the head of Department.

In economic terms, the industry is on the rise, increasing gross turnover, said the head of Rosrybolovstvo. "Over the past year it has grown by 7% and, if in 2014-2015, such a large increase reflects the change rate of the ruble, and now this momentum forward. We less begin to deliver unprocessed raw materials, and more focused on processing. Is the production of fillets, fish meal and even for export... gradually we are increasing the production of processed products," - said Shestakov.

However, he noted that the volume of fishery exports over the past year increased by 17% in value terms.

Volume of investments

According to Shestakov, the Agency estimates the volume of investments in the framework of the investment quota in the amount of 140 billion rubles for the next five years. He added that in the framework of investcom were selected from 56 applications.

"To be built 33 new vessels at Russian shipyards: six ships for the Far East and 27 vessels for the Northern basin. Moreover, if for the Far East it is large vessels over 100 m (length approx. TASS), for the Northern basin - there is a different specificity, these vessels up to 85 m. In almost all these courts provides a high-tech recycling," - said the head of Rosrybolovstvo.

He also said that he would build a 23 onshore processing plant.

Responding to a question the Prime Minister about where the vessels will be built, Shestakov said that all vessels contracted at domestic shipyards. "This is Vyborg shipyard, Admiralty shipyards this is the plant "Yantar", which has already begun construction. We have seven vessels are currently in the process of construction. The part of fishermen ordered (the court) on private shipyards outside the United shipbuilding Corporation", - said Shestakov.

Earlier, the head of the Agency said that the investment quota will encourage the construction of high-tech and efficient operating terms of production facilities. The development and processing of fish bio-resources through such facilities, according to calculations of the Agency, will in average double the value added of the catch.
