The volume of investments in the Russian fishing industry in 2018 could rise in 2 times in comparison with the figure for 2017 to be 28-30 billion. About it journalists were reported by the President of the Russian Association of fishery enterprises, entrepreneurs and exporters (VARPE BUT) Herman Zverev.

"Investments in the industry doubled compared with the previous year. If last year's investments amounted to RUB 14 billion, I think that by the end of 2018, investments will be at least 28, maybe even 30 billion rubles," - he said.

The expert noted that the growth of turnover of enterprises of fishing industry in Russia in 2017 amounted to 7% and reached 310 billion rubles. In 2018 it is expected to increase its turnover by 2-3%, which will be 320-325 billion. As for profits of the fisheries companies, it in 2018, according to forecasts, will amount to approximately 84-85 billion and will remain at 2017. Tax revenues in 2018 could range from 42 billion to 55 billion roubles, unchanged compared with the year 2016.

According to Zverev, in 2017 in the Russian fishing industry saw an increase in imports, associated with a deficit in the market of herring and mackerel. The volume of imports by the end of the year amounted to almost 500 tons, which was 13% more than in 2016, but, according to experts, in 2018 this growth is not expected due to the increase of catches of these two species.
