According to "market Analysis of dry bread products in Russia", prepared BusinesStat in 2018, from 2013 to 2017, their sales in the country increased by 15%: from 116 to 134 thousand tons during the study period sales annually showed an increase of 2-5%. In this case the maximum growth rate was observed in 2016, the minimum in 2015

It is no secret that during the fall of income consumers are forced to shift from expensive products in favor of more affordable. It happened in the market of confectionery and bakery products: in a crisis by increasing sales of inexpensive products with a long shelf life (cookies, cakes, drying, sweet crackers, etc.), while sales of chocolate products and flour confectionery products non-durable storage (cakes, pastries, etc.) has dropped significantly.

The growth rate of sales of crackers (snack) in Russia slowed down gradually, which indicates the imminent saturation of the market. Experts point out several factors negatively affecting the development of the market of biscuits in recent years. First, it is the growth of retail prices. Second, the increasingly popular trend of proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. That is why in recent years there has been growing interest of Russian buyers to the segment of natural "healthy" snacks (nuts, dried fruit, snack with beneficial properties). Thirdly, the reduction in the number of stalls and booths.

Despite the negative factors, there are a number of factors positively influencing the market, for example, the growth of household consumption of crackers for savings on visits to cafes and cinemas. In addition, the crackers are much cheaper than most snacks (such as potato chips, sea snacks, nuts, dried fruits), which often is the buyer for a decisive factor in their selection, especially in terms of savings.

According to the estimates of BusinesStat, in the forecast years, the sales growth of dry bread products will continue. In 2018-2020 years the growth rate of this indicator will be reported annually to slow down, and in 2021-2022 g – grow, which will be associated with the projected fall in real incomes in these years. In 2022, sales will be 160 thousand tons, which exceeds the level of 2017 by 20%.
