In Velikoluksky district of the Pskov region today, March 6, opened the largest in the North-West of Russia the plant on processing of biological waste. As reported to IA REGNUM in the press service of the regional administration, per day the plant can process 150 tons of biological waste, production is automated.

Raw material for processing is taken from meat processing plants, cattle-breeding complexes, farms and private farms across the North West of Russia. Under the influence of high temperature it is dried, sterilized and crushed. The final product — fat and meat-bone meal is widely used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, perfume industry and in the production of biofertilizers.

Investor — the company "Velikoluksky pig-breeding complex" — has invested in the construction of the enterprise 1.2 billion rubles of its own funds, without attracting credit resources. State support amounted to 180 million rubles.

According to the head of the enterprise Alexander Timashenko, the plant focuses primarily on the Russian market. The company has started work only in daylight hours, but later goes on round-the-clock production.

He noted that the complex is built in accordance with the most stringent Russian and environmental standards: the infrastructure includes the mandatory dezbarery, a boiler house and a car wash. Unique equipment — regenerative thermal oxidizer — destroys all volatile organic compounds at 950 degrees and also provides the ability to get hot water to operate the plant.
