A new type of the Dagestan mountain breed of sheep brought in kazbekovskiy district of Dagestan. It was presented during the seminar-workshop on development of sheep breeding in the Republic up to 2025, reported the press service of the Ministry of agriculture and food of the region.

"A new type of Dagestan mountain [breed of sheep] in the course of the seminar-workshop was presented by the Chairman of SPK "Krasnyy Oktyabr" kazbekovskiy district Magomedzagid haybulayev. Presented to participants of action the wool of the sheep [new] artrujillo type, <...> he said that the work on breeding new Merino type was conducted nearly 14 years" - said the press service.

The new type differs precocity, yields on 10 more kg of meat and about 50 kg more wool. "Soon artsahsky type of the Dagestan mountain breed of sheep will be put to a court expert Commission for testing and protection of selection achievements in livestock breeding for the evaluation, approval and inclusion in the state register," - noted in the Ministry of agriculture of the Republic.

According to the Minister of agriculture and food of the Republic of Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimova, sheep is one of the leading branches of agro industrial complex of Dagestan, and in the future, the Ministry will pay her much attention.
