Kostroma authorities rely on Federal support in the modernization of flax production.

Kostroma region on the implementation of the plans on modernization of flax industry will require annual Federal support for farming and primary processing of flax fiber. Its approximate size is 100 to 200 million rubles, told TASS the Governor of the region Sergey Sitnikov.

"On average, Kostroma region on the implementation of these plans will require annual support from the Federal budget for the farming and primary processing of flax fiber from 100 to 200 million rubles depending on the chosen final product. The greatest financial support will require an integrated use of, for example, preparation of nitrocellulose or other composite materials," said Sitnikov.

According to him, to completely revive the linen industry is only possible with the joint participation of the state, region and investors. The Governor also noted that the terms of the modernization of the sector in the Kostroma region and the final determination of the amount of acreage depends on the state order.

"And in particular the role of the state order formation for the manufacture of fabrics for law enforcement agencies, medical, food industry and strategic material (powder, antiseptic material, new design weaving (3D). This is necessary to linen products were not in demand only for premium clothing," said Sitnikov.

1866 in Kostroma region has a Large Kostroma linen manufactory, which is one of the largest producers of fabrics in Russia. Earlier Sitnikov noted that Russian enterprises of the flax industry needed modernization - most of them work on outdated equipment.
