In early April it was reported that the Rosselkhoznadzor allowed deliveries to Russia of tomatoes 15 Turkish companies. In late March, the Department also noted that it was ready in April to start the inspection of enterprises engaged in the production of tomatoes in Turkey.

"The Rosselkhoznadzor experts during the period from 15 to 21 April 2018, will visit Turkish Republic with the purpose of acquaintance with technology of growing, packaging and preparation of tomatoes for export to Russia, as well as evaluation of compliance with the phytosanitary requirements of the Eurasian economic Union of Turkish enterprises producing specified products", — stated in the message.

Previously, the Rosselkhoznadzor has repeatedly sent inspection in Turkey to check for tomato producers, including a test was carried out after the abolition with November 1, the strict prohibition on the import of Turkish tomatoes.

Russia introduced an embargo on the supply of Turkey a number of products from 1 January 2016 in response to the attack on the Turkish air force Russian su-24 in Syria at the end of November 2015.
