The total investment in new fishing vessels and fish processing plants in 2018 exceed 130 billion rubles, said the head of Rosrybolovstvo Ilya Shestakov, at a meeting on the development of fish processing industry, which is held by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

"The results of the first stage of acceptance [of applications] to consolidate investovat were selected or admitted to the option of more than 50 projects of new fishing vessels and onshore fish processing plants. The total amount of declared investments in these projects amounted to over 130 billion rubles," - said Shestakov.

According to him, after the stated fleet and construction of coastal enterprises by 2025, the situation in the fishing industry will change significantly: "We expect a significant change in the current resource model. In parts of Alaska Pollock and herring, the proportion of products with high added value should be at least 50%, which means a more than threefold increase in production compared to 2017, and for Atlantic cod and haddock, given the potential of the new capacities, we believe the share of processed products can reach 80 to 90%".

He noted that in the structure of exports from Russia is still dominated by products with relatively low added value.
