Russia broke the record for the volume of grain exports to China.
Russia broke the record in modern history in terms of exports of grain and products of its processing in China, putting this country on 1 July 2017 may 15, 2018 1,231 million tons, according to Rosselkhoznadzor on Wednesday.

"According to the FGIS "Argus-Phyto" in 2017/2018 agricultural year (July 1, 2017 may 15, 2018), the export of grain and products of its processing in the people's Republic of China amounted to 1,231 million tons, which is an absolute record in the history of modern Russia", — stated in the message.

The main exports are soybeans (846,2 thousand tons), rapeseed (108,1 thousand tons), wheat (41,3 thousand tons), corn (23 thousand tons). The cultures are allowed to export from November 1, 2017, already shipped flax seed is a 46.6 thousand tons, buckwheat — 7.5 thousand tons, sunflower seeds — by 2.6 thousand tons, and oats — is 2.1 thousand tons.

 
 

The Agency notes that China ranks 13th in the rating of main countries-importers of Russian grain and the pace approaching the top 10. Compared to the same period of the 2014/2015 crop year, the export of grain products from Russia to China increased 18 times.

 

"This became possible thanks to the ongoing work of the Rosselkhoznadzor aimed at expanding the list of crops approved for export to China and increase the number of Russian regions, approved by the Chinese side for the supply of wheat," adds the Agency.

The Rosselkhoznadzor is seeking access to the market of China barley, millet, sorghum, soybean meal, and grain products. This year's planned number of inspections of Chinese specialists in Russia for the analysis of phytosanitary risks.
