URALCHEM: nitrogen fertilizer market could grow by 5-10% in 2018.

The nitrogen fertiliser market in 2018 may show a growth rate of 5-10% due to low performance in the first quarter due to the long winter, said General Director of URALCHEM Dmitry Konyaev.

"The first quarter was all Udobrenia, especially nitrogen, is quite stressful due to the protracted winter in the Northern hemisphere. In principle, the market rebounded slightly. I think if you look at the nitrogen segment by 2018, relative to 2017, we "average hospital" will see a small plus, small - 5 to 10% of the market," said Konyaev TASS on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg international economic forum.

 

However, he added that the indicators will largely depend on the second half of the year, in particular, to the season in Brazil and India.

"Overall the expectations that we ("URALCHEM"), maybe we'll see a slight flow indicators at the end of the year," added the CEO of the company.

URALCHEM has facilities for annual production of more than 2.9 million tons of ammonia, 2.9 million tons of ammonium nitrate, 1.2 million tonnes of urea and 0.8 million tonnes of phosphate and compound fertilizers. The structure of the fixed production assets of URALCHEM include the Azot branch in the Perm region, "Perm mineral fertilizers", Kirovo-Chepetsk chemical Kombinat in Kirov region, as well as "Voskresensk mineral fertilizers" in the Moscow region.
